A little reminder

Well it has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog but I am going to try to keep up with it a little bit more now. Lately I have found I have been reflecting a lot about life choices I have made, choices that are coming ahead, and battles I have been putting up with for a while.

I am the type of person who usually jumps to a negative thought because I feel like I deal with enough on a daily basis most of the time. Then that little voice in my head beats me down about how worse off other people are and that I really do have it all made for me. My family is amazing and supportive, my friends are always there to listen if I need to talk, and Kevin is constantly here making me smile and helping me with anything that I need.

I was having a crappy day and just wishing that something would happen to make it better. I went onto my timehop app on my phone tonight and this photo popped up and instantly I had a smile on my face. A lot of you will think its just a tree with a marker on it.  What possibly could be the significance in this? Well this marker isn't just a white spot on a tree. My family knows exactly who it is/what it is a reminder of.

To people who haven't lost anyone close you might not understand this.  This mark is my Grandpa to me when I walk through the trails. This mark is a reminder of his smile, laugh and gentle touch. This mark is a reminder of the amazing moments that we got to spend with him and all the amazing things he did when he was here. This mark is a reminder that he is always around us.

Seeing this photo tonight lifted my mood instantly. Grandpa is here and hes watching and hes taking care of me and all the things that are going on in life right now. I always knew he watching but sometimes you just need a little reminder.

Grandpa you have done it again. You have made your princess smile another time. As my dad always says its not goodbye its i'll see you later. There will be something else that you do that puts a smile on my face and remember all of these moments again.

Thanks for stopping by!!

National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Two Scrapbook Friends National Scrapbook Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Two Scrapbook Friends blog. I am super excited to be your first official stop along the way!!

My letter is S and my technique/element is splatter

I love to use paint and mist on my layouts because it adds a softer look with some extra colour to add to the background. For my technique I used water colour paints and splattered on my background.

As you can see in this photo I have white paint on my background. Another cool technique I added to my page using water colours is I used texture paste on my background and then painted over top of it with my water colours when it was dry to add some colour. It turned out great!!

Now you should hop over to Jayne's blog. And remember to leave a comment on each blog as you go. This way you will qualify to be in a draw for a fabulous Blog Hop prize. Have fun hopping!

Songs of Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to the Songs of Christmas Blog Hop with Two Scrapbook Friends!  You should have arrived here from Jodi's blog.

Our Blog Hop is all about the Songs of Christmas and the inspiration for my project comes from the song Santa Claus Is Coming To Town.

I created this adorable sleigh, Santa card, envelope, and cute little chocolate bar sleeves for the blog hop.  I found the SVG file from SVG Cuts and had to play around with it! I am in charge of the Christmas party for my work and ended up making sixteen of each of these to give out as a gift to everyone.

I used a couple buttons to jazz up the side of the sleigh

On the card I used liquid aplique and glitter to give Santa's hat a little sparkle and dimension.

I also added some bakers twine around the brads to frame my project a little more.

Finally for my envelope I used the envelope punch board from We R Memory Keepers to create an envelope that was specific to my card size. To jazz up my envelope I added some coordinating bakers twine around the envelope.

Last but not least I made these really cute chocolate bar sleeves to go along with the gift for everyone at my work.

I had so much fun creating these projects for the blog hop and my Christmas party. I am hoping that my project inspires you to get out some of your Christmas paper, glitter, and glue and create something special for someone this holiday season.

So remember, in order to be entered to win the special prize all you have to do is hop from Blog to Blog and leave a comment on each as you go.  Then simply check back at the Two Scrapbook Friends blog on December 10th to see if you are the lucky winner!

Around The World Crop - Ways To Travel

There are many different ways to travel around the world. You can travel by boat, plane, bike, foot, etc. Everyone has traveled at least one place in the world even if it was just an hour away. My challenge for you is to scrapbook a way that you have traveled.

1. Your layout must contain a photo of a mode of transportation
2. Your layout must be brand new for this crop (no recycling)

This is the layout that I have created based on my challenge. This layout has photos of from my first trip and my first flight.

I used some of my favourite letters for my title.

I used these little journal strips and journaled a little bit about my experience.

Last but not least I added some stitching (obviously) to add a little more.

Stop by the Two Scrapbook Friends Forum to take part in all of the fun challenges that we have going on this week! I look forward to see what you created based on my challenge!  Don't forget to link your creations up to the Two Scrapbook Friends Blog as well!
